Henry Richard Vizetelly (1820-1894) was an English publisher, writer, translator, and foreign correspondent. He was fined and imprisoned for publishing Zola's works, and provided a preface and an afterword for this 1902 translation.
Thérèse Raquin was Zola's third work, published in 1867, and tells of events before and after a man's murder by his wife's lover.
