Determine what metadata to send to device

Hi,

Is it possible to choose which columns I want to send to the device? I love my tags, but I don't want to navigate 9k tags on my tablet, maybe just a few dozen categories or genre.

I've looked at the Metadata Plugboard, could that do this? If yes, can someone help me with the syntax?

Calibre is awesome. And the Calibre community is also awesome.
