New firmware - email highlights of side-loaded books

I've read somewhere that one of the latest firmwares allow you to email highlights from a book as PDF. Could someone confirm this can be done for side loaded books (and not just books bought from amazon)?

I am stuck in an ancient firmware in kpw1 which amazon stopped providing upgrade many years ago so I have no way to test this.
