Pictures in eBook.

What is the best way to format pictures?

I use this code

<figure>
<img src="../Images/image002.jpg" alt="links/menashe.jpg"/>
<figcaption>Menashe people with Rabbi Avichail (right)</figcaption>
</figure>

but I think figure-tag isn't acceptable in epub2 format.
