I've recently been buying my books from ebooks.com simply because I thought they would continue to sell epub books and removing the DRM from any books I bought would therefore be easy. I t certainly has been up until now.
Today I bought an ebook and was slightly concerned that it was downloadable only in a format I'd never encountered before - LCPL. I attempted to add it to my calibre library using the lcpl plugin and DeDRM - having added my LCP passphrase into the settings under "Readium LCP ebooks". It was simply imported as a file with the format "LCPL" and, upon attempting to view it I simply saw the contents which appeared to be a small file of some sort of markup language.
I also tried to import one of the test texts from the LCPL website - Moby Dick in my case. It is succesfully converted to epub, but still encrypted by DRM.
I'm concluding from this that the LCPL plugin may be working - but the DeDRM portion is not - depsite having the option to enter my passphrase.
Any help in figuring out how to remove this DRM will be very much appreciated! I just want to read my books!
