Content Server = Plugged in USB ?

Hi guys!

Quick question.

if you use Content Server is it as if your kindle is plugged in via cable to your PC?

im asking because i cannot access the USB port. so wondering if i download from the content server would it treat it as Plugged in USB. Because things like word dumb (word wise / x-ray) or kfx settings etc., needs kindle to be plugged in to pc.
