BBC news recipes not working properly

Can anyone please look at the built-in BBC recipes :help:

I only received my Kobo e-reader a couple of weeks ago and have been using Calibre to manage books etc. since 8.3, although still happens in 8.4.
Unfortunately, when I used the BBC fetch news option (both BBC News and BBC Fast) to get United Kingdom news, the only news articles that seem to be downloaded all relate to sport with no general news at all.
I customised the BBC News recipe to comment out the sport retrieval section of it (see attachment), but it still only seems to get sports news.

I did raise a Launchpad issue but was told that Kovid doesn't maintain the recipes.
