Bookshelf/collection organization stopped working

Hi all. I have been using collections on my Libre color and Clara color for some time. I have the Kobo Touch driver set to create automatically manage and to create collections and I have automatic management turned on. However, when I finished a book recently I found that none of my books were in their collections anymore on either device. I tested downloading books and it did not work. I also noted that Kobotouch extended was no longer installed and would not install so I was left to use Kobotouch. Was there some recent change that I missed? Thanks for your help.
PS: Running calibre 8.3 and update to 8.4. No difference. Still cannot reinstall Kobotouch extended. Says it installs reboot but only kobotouch is installed.
