The big piece is a wall shelf for pictures, price at dollar store $3.50
The vertical piece is the bottom of a cheap bamboo tray, $2
The magnetic cover folded back upon itself is mostly strong enough.
I'll probably redo using a broader piece of wood with magnets inset.
That will work as an "amplifier" between the device's magnets and the cover magnets.
I use my "keyfob" Bluetooth remote inside a ziploc baggie.
I don't push my luck and fully immerse it.
