A few days ago, I temporarily downgraded to 7.16 to check for presence of a glitch. This required uninstalling Calibre.
Since then, the two times I've updated (first back to 7.17, then to the 7.17.100 preview), now getting desktop icons. This didn't happen before. I doubt there's been any recent change to the install procedure, so what would cause this?
