Aura ONE Trouble loading PDFs

Hi all, I would really appreciate some help here. I recently picked up a Kobo Aura One second hand. It looked like the device supports PDFs. Whenever I try adding PDFs (either with Caliber or manually), it fails. Upon ejecting my Kobo, the "importing" screen either gets stuck on 6% until I reboot the device, or sticks there for a little, and then goes to the home screen. Both fail to actually import the PDF.

I have tried:
- Power cycling the device
- Checking the database in Calibre with KoboUtilities
- Many different kinds of PDFs
- Factory resetting the device

None seem to work. I'm on software version 4.38.23038 (6/20/24)
