Thomas Clark Hinkle (1876–1949) was an American novelist who specialized primarily in children's western dog and horse stories. His children's books were frequently used as supplemental reading in schools in the 1940s and 1950s and many titles were widely reprinted.

The following title is not, however, one of them. First published in 1947, this is the hardest of all Dr. Hinkle's horse titles to find in print. On this date, Bookfinder.com has ONE physical copy listed for sale.
