Clarence Michael James Stanislaus Dennis (7 September 1876 22 June 1938)
Best known for his series of poems of "The Sentimental Bloke" and his girl Doreen in working class Sydney in the early years of the 20th century, C J Dennis was a newspaper journalist who also wrote humorous pieces for his paper commenting on issues of the day, often in the style of an uneducated "bushie".
Less well known are his short stories, and this new, original collection includes all fifteen that I have managed to track down in magazines and newspapers.
