Back then, my harddisk left forgotten years ago.
I have calibre 3.4 last updated back then, since I enough time to organizing my long lost forgotten ebook library in calibre, I did access the old HDD again..
the partition that hold the calibre library seems have so many bad sectors.
the good things, the metadata.db and json file is still good.
but many of the books still not yet copied.
First of all, I already forgot how my library looks last time, like the order of my plugin in the interface (what's in context menu, what's in second optional toolbar, the tweaks and some setting that I do in the past)
I install latest calibre 7, I think the json files still contain a bit of setting.
btw, is there feature like exporting/import all calibre setting, tweak, and all the plugin setting include the order of interface to another computer?
The problems are:
1. My calibre library folder still not yet completely copied, this lead to my book details contain EPUB format, but the actual folder was empty.
which I want to do slowly for now, one per author since it get stuck I/O errors and the hdd keep ejecting itself (access from usb3).
someone just told me to use ddrescue, I haven't tried that.
2. In the past I think I've set custom coloring, if the format is not set then the color of all column is RED. which was helpful.
this a bit confusing, the book that lost the EPUB file inside detected as RED color. I did search the format:="false", but only listing the empty books.
strange. the color detection seems using different code that I don't know.
It can detect the books wasn't inside the folder.
Could I filter the way the custom color do?
3. I need advice to do Library Maintenance, and what I need to watchout.
so I don't accidentally delete the books inside the folder.
or can calibre isolate the book that don't match the database to designated folder?
4. I can't do restore database right now, because it is still not yet completely copied.
Thank you, all advices would be highly appreciated.
