B I U S - unexpected results

Hello Kovid,

When using the B I U S buttons from the toolbar, sometimes there are some unexpected results.

In image 1, I have highlighted the last word and also selected part of the closing tag. When clicking Italic button, it is correctly executed.

In image 2, I have highlighted the first word and also selected part of the opening tag. When clicking Italic button, it becomes corrupted. The highlighted word is ignored and the opening italic tag is placed immediately after the highlighted word, and the closing italic tag snaps to the next available closing tag and breaks it.

I am pretty sure that never used to happen, but I have no idea from when it started happening.
