novaAir firmware 3.2.3 root problem

I tried rooting the new firmware on the novaAir using the magisk method described here.
This method worked well for me with previous firmware versions, but this time when I'm fastbooting the pathed image I only get the boot animation in a loop.
Does anyone have an idea of what could go wrong and how to fix it? or a different rooting method?
