I've had the device for about a week. It was fine until this morning. When I connected to USB the screen started to flash from the sleep screen to the home screen. I'm on the latest firmware, but I assumed that this was the often commented upon USB recognition issue, even though I'm not getting any error messages on the PC. Oddly, the flashing persists after I disconnect from USB. On the other hand, it stops flashing after I restart the device, only to begin again with the USB connection. Disconnecting and rebooting seems the only way to stop it.
I have deleted the last batch of books I transferred using Calibre/Kobo Extended Touch driver. Also, I'm using the factory cable. I've tried another cable and a few different USB ports. It makes no difference.
The only hack/patch I'm running is Nickle Menu. (Edit: Uninstalled Nickle Menu, and it didn't change anything)
I suppose I'll have to do a factory reset unless somebody has another suggestion.
