any way to get rid of the "New" marker/icon/badge?

I recently factory reset my Oasis and reloaded everything, so the Kindle has marked everything as "new". Is there any way to get the "New" banner/icon/badge/whatever you want to call it off all my books without having to open them one by one?

It's particularly annoying as the diagonal banner in grid/cover view, but I'm not real fond of it in list view either. Especially because now the new UI won't show a length indicator on any book with a "new" badge showing. Only opened items show a length bar.

Oh, and it's been a month, the markers are not expiring after 7 days.
