Email stopped working

I’ve been using Calibre for several years without any problems, but am now unable to send books from Calibre via email to my kindle reader.
It seems that the books are not being attached to the email for transmission.
Up until now there hasn’t been any problem.
Has anyone encountered this and what is the solution?
