Last week I bought a Kindle Paperwhite. Tonight, after reading a couple of chapters at the hair stylist while waiting for my wife, I closed the cover and set it down on the seat of my car and went home. Once home I opened the cover and much to my amazement, there was a small crack right in the middle of the screen. It had not been thrown, dropped or mishandled in any way. I don't know where the crack came from, but it is very distracting.
I contacted Amazon support right away to find out if it would be cost effective for me to have it repaired. This is where it gets amazing. I was told that the Amazon warranty does not cover physical damage, but because I have been a loyal customer they will send me a replacement free of charge! Now here is where it gets more amazing, I bought the Kindle used on eBay. I am not the original owner and Amazon is aware of this and they are replacing it for me anyway!
Amazon has the best customer service of any company I have ever dealt with bar none!
