Six short stories amounting to 40,000 words, published initially in the "London Magazine" in 1905-6, and then collected into a book in 1910. This edition uses the texts of the magazine stories.

Paul Beggerstaff, "the sage of Tyburn Square", resolves the perplexiities and problems of his well-heeled clientele.
