A few questions about send to device....

I have a few questions that have been bugging me, and haven't really found their answers yet, so here I am to ask the "experts". If it's in the manual, I may have missed it.

I have noticed that a few things have happened when sending to my Kindles. I haven't been able to determine what the cause of it happening is, and really want to either continue the seemingly random behavior or want to know why it is happening.

First...sometimes the books download into the Kindle Cloud Collections on their own. This happens when the folders are named pretty close to what various tags and metadata on the books are, but sometimes the tags aren't used. A folder with an author or series title will auto populate. As well as read status.

Save in sub directories....i have a Kindle Paperwhite (newest edition since it's a recent replacement)...is this something I need to check? Since all the books end up in the "documents" folder? Will checking this enhance or detract or do nothing?

Covers.....seriously? I am so damn tired of sending to my device and having random covers show or not show. I have done imho everything in every combination to assure the downloading and retaining of the covers. It seems to happen when I download more than a couple books at a time, or other times I can download 50 books and get them all. I know about MOBI, I know about book sizes and polishing. The problem is erratic and unpredictable. I have noticed that sometimes a cover won't show but when I come back to the page it will flash very briefly the cover before settling down to the Kindle generic cover. Any suggestions?

Is there some kind of setting I am missing? Is there something I should or should not be doing?

Finally, a new event happened that caught me by surprise. I have two Kindles, I have two columns of yes/no for each Kindle that I use to show what books are on the device. It really helps to keep them synced and doesn't require using the reading list plugin that takes over when I am not ready.

These columns have always been manually populated using a bulk edit data using the Ondevice column as a guide. Last night that column auto added. I didn't do anything, but when a book landed on the device that column (which matched the device) automatically ticked yes. Before I am asked, yes I am talking about a custom column not the Ondevice column. Not to sure that I like it because I worry that it will remove ticks on books not on the device. Is this a new feature, or is it only happening because a set parameter has been inadvertently satisfied? (yes I did just use that phrase).

Ok, was kind of long....

Covers, sub-folders and auto-populating cloud collections, and automatic ticking On Kindle 1, On Kindle 2 yes/no columns as I add to the device.

Thanks!
