It's rumoured that Amazon is working on an e-reader will have a colour screen. Up until now, their e-readers have had black and white screens only. The technology comes from Eindhoven, in the Netherlands, created by Liquavista, so says GoodEReader (*). That company, which is a spin-off from Philips, was sold to Amazon in 2013. According to GoodEReader, the new device will have an 8 inch screen, while all current models have a 6 six inch screen only. It's not clear what technology will be used exactly, but on its site, LiquaVista shows a technology called 'electro wetting.' This is a screen technology that uses small droplets, which will be deformed by putting current through them. The light hitting those droplets can have different colours because of this.
