The Wicked City by Megan Morgan (ISFDB) is the 1st novel in her Siren Song series of urban fantasy adventures with f/m paranormal romance elements starring a woman with supernatural vocal powers in a world where the paranormal become unwilling research subjects, this installment featuring the heroine's attempted rescue of her kidnapped brother and setting her up for future skirmishes with the Institute behind it all, free courtesy of publisher Kensington's Lyrical Press imprint.
This is apparently being made free to promote the upcoming release of the 3rd in series, slated for July. Also, the customer reviews note that while there's an apparent HEA in this, the romantic relationship is of a casual sort and somewhat backgrounded and developed throughout the rest of the series, so YMMV if you were hoping for a more overtly romance-y sort of read.
Currently free @ B&N, Amazon (available to Canadians & in the UK), Kobo & Google Play (both available to Canadians) & iTunes (not available to Canadians)
And this has been the (late!) selected 3rd (non-repeat) free ebook thread of the day.
A little by default, but sfnal-ish freebies are always welcome, especially ones that develop an ongoing character and world as well as taking you through their assorted adventures throughout the series. :2thumbsup
Enjoy!
