Calibre's Updating Process - In Need of an overhaul

Hi Team,

Firstly i wanted to say I absolutely love Calibre and think the work that has been done is absolutely amazing. One thing that I believe is lacking is an update system for Calibre.

Plugins, etc you can download using the plugin tool - it applies the update, you restart. Is this not possible to use the same system for the main updates? Wouldn't it make for a nicer process.

For those of us on a Mac, it's a long process - download the dmg, drag the dmg into the applications folder and restart (after you click Apple's warning message!).

Thoughts?
